As one of Europe’s foremost independent economics consultancies, Oxera has a longstanding reputation for providing critical economic insight to an international list of clients. We advise companies, policymakers, regulators and lawyers on any economic issue around competition, regulation, damages quantification, performance assessment and state aid across a wide range of sectors. We have been doing this for more than three decades, gathering deep and wideranging knowledge as we expand into new sectors.
We have a reputation for credibility and integrity among those we advise, and among key decision-makers, such as policymakers, regulators and courts. Today we have offices in Berlin, Brussels, London and Oxford, and are able to advise our international clients in a highly flexible way, including providing advice in several languages other than English.
What we offer
The ability to become a subject-matter expert within your field. This is achieved through first-class learning and development opportunities, exposure to key projects early on, a supportive and collaborative working environment, a flat internal structure, and a structured career path. This foundation will enable you to make a real difference from the beginning. Our matrix structure means that each consultant joins a sector and a skills team, expanding their knowledge and understanding, and learning how to ensure a robust approach to the task at hand.
Many interns return as full time employees after completing their internship and/or their studies. A work programme is tailored to each intern, taking into account their individual interests and skills and Oxera's current needs. Interns benefit from the support and management of a dedicated consultant.
In order to qualify you should be a final year undergraduate or a post-graduate student working towards a first-class degree (or equivalent) in economics and/or finance. If you’re doing a joint honours degree, there must be an emphasis on microeconomics (particularly industrial organisation), finance and/or econometrics.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and excellent analytical, communication and people skills are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with European language skills.
